There is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the appropriate response to the Corona Virus (COVID-19) in the ambulatory healthcare setting. We are monitoring the updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will revise our procedures as needed.
Patients will continue to be seen for their ongoing care, but we will try and minimize the exposure to staff and family members. If you have any of the following, please call the office to notify us that you will not be coming in for your scheduled appointment:
- A sustained fever of over 100.4 F
- Recent overseas travel, especially to a high-risk area (China, Italy, Iran, Korea), or on a cruise where others have screened positive for COVID-19
- Close contact with a person with COVID-19 in the last 14 days
- Difficulty breathing
We will guide you to contact your primary care doctor or refer you to the Emergency Department if needed. We do not have testing capability for Corona Virus and if there is concern we ask that you do not come to your scheduled appointment.
Our waiting rooms typically have elderly and immunocompromised patients at high risk of significant consequences if they contract Corona Virus.
Our physicians will help create a home-based care plan that you can execute. This will likely involve either having supplies sent to your home through your insurance (when possible) or through retail vendors like Amazon to support you during the time you are ill and any quarantine period.
